Bryan Smith is the manager of Centrol Crop Consulting. He grew up on a farm near Chandler, MN and began working with Centrol in 1995. He is a graduate of South Dakota State University and holds a B.S. in Agronomy. Bryan is a Certified Crop Advisor and a Technical Service Provider. He and his wife, Debbie, have 3 children and reside near Balaton, MN. Bryan enjoys hunting, fishing, being outdoors, and spending time with his family in his free time. He values the fact that every season and year is different, each bringing new challenges to overcome and learn from. "Our sole job is to help our customers do better and maximize profits, nothing more, nothing less. We accomplish this through our education, training, hard work, and networking with the other consultants on staff."
Brian Velde started with Centrol in September of 2006, working between Granite Falls and Marshall. After graduating from high school in Granite Falls, he majored in Agronomy & Ag Business at SDSU in Brookings, SD. He spent a year working on the East Coast for Aventis CropScience as a chemical representative. After that excellent experience, he came back home and worked as an agronomist at the Cottonwood Coop Oil for 5 years. In his free time he enjoys playing softball, golf, farming, hunting, and spending time with friends. He currently lives near Hanley Falls with his wife Heather and two children. "I'm honored to work for Centrol Crop Consulting. I enjoy working with the farmers, helping them make the best management decisions to become most profitable. Independence is nice because it allows us to make the best possible recommendation."
Agronomy Services Manager
Ken Franzky joined Centrol Crop Consulting in July of 2015. Ken stated: “Centrol’s broad based and diverse agricultural knowledge, vast networking capabilities, commitment to excellence, and intense, unbiased focus are a few areas that attracted him to join the Centrol team”. Ken is our Agronomy Services Manager; which will align his passion and pride to advance our company in the following areas: Assist to overcome the unique challenges presented each growing season, Training on key agronomy fundamentals which drive crop production while following a common sense approach, Transfer information of value in a timely fashion and provide service that is second to none, Build long lasting grower and client relationships which lead to their return on investment and overall profits Prior to joining Centrol, Ken has enjoyed 21 years in the agriculture industry with some time in ag retail and the majority coming in the seed industry. This experience has allowed him to develop sales, management, and agronomy knowledge while working with teams and acres in parts of ND, SD, IA, and MN. Ken is a proud alumni of the University of Minnesota and is a Certified Crop Advisor. Being western MN natives, Ken and his wife Bobbie enjoy living in the rural Dawson, MN area and raising their family of 4 kids. At times you may find him volunteering, coaching, watching sports, or hobby farming but he’s usually being entertained with family and friend related activities through school, church, and community!
Josh Brusven began with Centrol in 2006 as a scout and became a full time employee May 2010. He is now our Operations Manager and is also a Crop Consultant. He was born in Olivia, Minnesota and grew up in Hanley Falls, Minnesota. Josh received his B.S. Degree in Environmental Science from Southwest Minnesota State University. Josh and his wife, Nicole, have two children. He enjoys hunting, fishing, grilling, and playing softball in his spare time. Josh believes that being with the Centrol organization is of great value because, "he can help his growers get the best yields they can and give them an unbiased opinion." The ability to network with other consultants helps to understand the industry better and can give our growers the best advice possible.
Ashley Wendorff started working at Centrol in August 2019. She grew up in Tracy, MN. She graduated from St. Cloud State University with a bachelor’s degree in Finance. Prior to coming to Centrol, Ashley worked in many different finance roles, including banking, financial analysis and accounting. Ashley lives on Lake Shetek, MN with her husband, Trevor and two children, Mason and Isabel. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, boating/being on the lake, shopping and watching youth/high school wrestling.
Crystal Leversedge Marron
Crystal Leversedge Marron started working for Centrol in 2016. She grew up in Balaton, MN. Crystal graduated from Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, MN with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with a minor in Business Administration. She is a Certified Public Accountant and had worked in public accounting for 18 years prior to coming to Centrol. Crystal lives in Balaton, MN on her family acreage with her husband Joel and their two small boys, Brayden and Braxden. She also has two older stepsons, Jordan and Tyler. Her family is very important to her and she enjoys spending quality time with them doing various activities.
Jessica Gronli started working with Centrol April 2014. She grew up in Milroy, MN. She graduated from South Central College, North Mankato, MN with an Agribusiness Office Systems Specialist A.A.S. Degree and an Executive Assistant, A.A.S. Degree. Jessica and her husband Josh live on a farm near Wabasso, MN with their three kids Jaelyn, John Thomas, and Jocelyn. Jessica enjoys being outside, shooting pool, playing volleyball, hanging out with her family and friends, and watching baseball. She loves that Centrol is on the cutting edge of technology and agriculture.
Director of Precision Ag Technology
Ben Prusa began working for Centrol in February of 2013. He was born in Columbia, MO and grew up north of Ames, Iowa. He graduated from the University of North Dakota with a B.S. and M.S. in Geography. His focus was on GIS, Remote Sensing, and GPS. Ben attended several trainings for on-farm GPS Equipment (Trimble, Case IH, Ag Leader and John Deere). Ben and his wife Jenna live near Ames, Iowa and have two children. His hobby is fishing. Being on the cutting edge of Precision Ag Technology is an important part of Ben’s work with Centrol. Ben likes being able to give an unbiased recommendation without any pressure to sell a specific product. Ben states that, "Developing new programs and finding ways to maximize Precision Ag uses for growers is both a challenging and rewarding career".
Precision Ag Supervisor
Jeremy Labat started with Centrol in 2012 as an intern, became a full time as a Consultant Technician in 2014, and is now our Precision Ag Supervisor. He is a graduate of Southwest Minnesota State University where he met his wife Maria. They live in Marshall, MN with their son Jack and yellow lab named Waylon. In his free time Jeremy enjoys spending time with his family, being outside with their dog, hunting, fishing, and taking in sporting events. Jeremy says " From working as a Consultant Tech and now in the Precision Ag Department, I have seen the value we bring to each grower first hand. We have so many resources at our disposal, and it is so wonderful to be part of a company that is a growing leader in the industry.”
Precision Ag Specialist
Anthony started full time September, 2017. He interned for two summers before being hired full time as a Consultant Technician, and in 2018 became a full time member of our Precision Ag team, as a Precision Ag Specialist. He grew up on a farm by cottonwood, MN, he received an associations degree from Mitchell Tech in Precision Ag Technology. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting, snowmobiling, and spending time with friends. Anthony says " He enjoys working for Centrol because we get to guide farmers in their decision making to maximize the potential of their operation and increase profits by using some of the industry’s best technology paired with our very knowledgeable staff."
Elliot De Jongh
Senior Agricultural Engineer
Elliot De Jongh, is a registered professional engineer (P.E.) and technical service provider (T.S.P.) Raised on a farm near Pipestone, MN, Elliot obtained degrees in Environmental Science from Dordt College and Civil Engineering from Colorado State University. For the last 10 years he has worked as a project engineer in the private sector, serving agricultural clients in Colorado, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Iowa by helping them develop solutions, maintain compliance, and mitigate regulatory concerns in agriculture. In addition to his engineering career, Elliot enjoys being back in Southwest Minnesota, helping on the family farm, spending time with his wife and kids, being active in his church, serving on the school board, and tinkering with classic cars.
Agricultural/Civil Engineer Trainee
Brent Louwagie, is an engineer in training working towards getting his professional engineering license. He grew up on a farm near Clarkfield, MN. Brent attended North Dakota State University and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering. Before joining Centrol, Brent has spent two years working as a technician, with various experiences in construction materials testing, surveying, and assisting engineers in MN, ND, SD, NM and TX. In his spare time, Brent enjoys helping on the family farm, spending time with his family, and being entertained by his very active dog, Dakota. Brent enjoys making engineering recommendations to family farm producers that are sustainable and profitable for todays regulations that can be passed on to future generations.
Environmental Services Manager
Ian Olson started working with Centrol in 2013. He grew up near Granite Falls, MN. Ian attended the University of Minnesota Morris where he received a Bachelor's degree in Biology. After college, Ian spent 2 years working as a technician for 2 soil and water conservation districts working primarily on wildlife and agricultural conservation programs. Ian and his wife Kendall currently live in Clarkfield, MN with their daughter. In his spare time, Ian enjoys hunting, fishing, boating, playing softball, watching Nebraska Cornhusker football, and spending time with family. Ian says this about his position with Centrol: "The most rewarding part of my job is being able to provide assistance to our customers and our consultants in order to maximize efficiency. Being part of a fast paced company with and extensive network of knowledge is very exciting."

Jay Murphy started with Centrol in May of 2015. He grew up in Adrian, MN and received Associates of Applied Science degree from Minnesota West in Soil and Water Conservation. Before joining the Centrol team Jay spent 16 years working in the environmental field with various private and government entities. Jay and his wife Angie live in Marshall, and have two children. In his spare time, Jay enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. Jay enjoys the opportunity to work with the progressive and knowledgeable staff that Centrol offers to supply superior, unbiased agronomic decisions to its clients.

Ben Trochlil started working with Centrol in 2017. Ben grew up on a farm south of Danube, MN and has always enjoyed being outdoors. He graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato in 2015 after earning a B.S. degree in Environmental Science, with an emphasis in Plant Science. Ben also earned a GIS certificate while attending MSU, Mankato. After college, Ben spent two years as a District Technician at the Renville County SWCD where he worked with the county feedlot program as well as several conservation programs. In his free time, Ben enjoys bow hunting, shed antler hunting, dark house spearing northern pike, attending concerts and coping with the constant agony that comes with being a Twins, Vikings and Wild fan. Ben values being able to work with the closely-knit team at Centrol where he enjoys working with producers one-on-one to maximize their profitability and provide unbiased recommendations.
Environmental Services Admin
Brooke Buysse began working for Centrol in 2020. She grew up on a small dairy farm in Lakefield, MN. She attended Southwest Minnesota State University where she played volleyball and earned her bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science. Previously, she worked with feedlots and conservation programs at the county level. Brooke and her husband, Nathan, live on a farm outside of Ghent with their daughter. When not working Brooke can be found spending time with family, riding horse, visiting friends, or traveling.
Kevin Banken started with Centrol in April 1997. He grew up in Appleton, Minnesota on a small family farm. Kevin is a South Dakota State University graduate and holds a Bachelors Degree, as well as a Masters Degree in Agronomy/Plant Science. He is a Certified Crop Advisor, a Technical Service Provider, and a Certified Nutrient Management Planner in South Dakota. He and his wife, Leanne, live in Brookings. He has been a member of the Brookings Volunteer Fire Department since 2001. He is also active in his church and a big fan of the Minnesota Vikings. Working for Centrol has many benefits including: independence, being part of a large consultant network, diverse agronomy, new technology, new challenges. But most of all, Kevin enjoys working closely with growers to help them grow and succeed
Adam Deppe started with Centrol in December 2015. He grew up in a small town south of Des Moines, Iowa, called Martensdale. After acquiring an Associates degree in Ag Business from Iowa Lakes Community College, he attended South Dakota State University having graduated in 2010 with a B.S. in Agronomy. He came to Centrol after having worked in retail ag as a Sales Agronomist for nearly 4.5 years around St. James, MN, where he resides today. I enjoy having the ability to give unbiased and professional advice to help farmers produce the best crops and achieve the highest yields using the network of knowledge from other consultants within Centrol.
Matt Eich started with Centrol in 2008. He was born in Rapid City, SD and grew up in Eagan, MN. Matt received his BS in Agronomy and a minor in Pest Management from South Dakota State University in 1999. He has been a Certified Crop Advisor since 2001. Matt and his wife, Beth, have 3 children. He enjoys woodworking and hunts in his spare time. Matt likes "the ability to help growers become more profitable and efficient in their operations." Matt believes that the greatest value being with Centrol is that he "has 40+ consultants to call on and the professionalism of the group."
Dusty Escher began working for Centrol in January of 2013. He grew up on a farm near Dumont MN. Dusty has a degree from North Dakota State University in Crop Production and Computer Networking. Dusty and his wife Tracy live in Dumont, MN. Hunting, fishing, and any outdoor sports are Dusty’s hobbies. He likes being able to work outdoors working with clients to help maximize each acre’s potential. Dusty says that, "Working with Centrol consultants gives each client access to years of gathered information and knowledge from a group of consultants with over 500 years of experience".
Chad Estebo began with Centrol in November 2008. He grew up on a farm near Clear Lake, SD and received his Associates degree from the University of Minnesota, Waseca and then a BS Degree in Agronomy from South Dakota State University. Chad and his wife Joan have one son, Evan, and live in Lynd, MN. Chad enjoys traveling, walking, golfing, with his family, visiting the elderly at care centers, and helping others in times of need. Chad was a member of the Army National Guard, 1742 and Transportation Company in Clear Lake, SD . He is a Veteran and served in Operation Desert Storm in 1990. Chad has worked in Retail Agronomy sales and as an Agronomist for 27 years. He has gained valuable knowledge working with growers in in KS, NE, SD, IA and MN before joining the Centrol team. Chad likes working with growers, helping them solve problems and planning for success. Working at Centrol, Chad feels he has, “excellent communication network with other consultants, giving the growers unbiased opinions on what will work best for their farming operation.
Jessie Fischer started with Centrol September 2019. Jessie grew up in Wakonda, SD. She graduated from South Dakota State University with a degree in Agricultural Business, Agronomy, and Animal Science. Jessie and her husband, Sam, live in Wakonda with their three children. She and her husband farm in the Irene/Wakonda area. Jessie enjoys hunting, spending time with her family and coaching her kids’ sports. Jessie enjoys Centrol because she gets to be side by side with farmers to help them grow their profit margins. Being able to give unbiased recommendations to her growers, and working outside all summer long are just a few of her reasons why she loves working for Centrol.
Jason Fussy has been working with Centrol since 1998. He grew up in Royalton, Minnesota. Jason is a North Dakota State University alumnus and holds a B.S. in Plant Sciences. He and his wife, Sadie, live in Willmar, Minnesota and have three children.. In his free time, Jason enjoys golfing, hunting, yard work, landscaping, and spending time with his family. He brings his knowledge in the form of unbiased information to benefit his clients and a diverse experience with Precision Ag. Jason values working with his clients, the Centrol Crop Consulting network, and working in the great outdoors.
Alex Genereux started with Centrol in 2015. He grew up Crookston, MN. Alex is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Crookston and holds a B.S. in Agronomy with a Minor in Ag Business. He is a consultant and lives in the Elbow Lake area with his wife. In Alex’s free time he enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time at the lake. He likes working for Centrol because of their mission. Helping growers maximize their profits by giving them unbiased advice will give them the best return on their investment.
Edward Gruenes started with Centrol in 2002. He grew up on a family farm near Eden Valley, Minnesota. Ed holds a B.S. Degree in Broad Area Management, with a Minor in Agronomy from the University of River Falls, Wisconsin. He is a Certified Crop Advisor and a Technical Service Provider. Ed and his wife, Sarah have 2 children. Ed enjoys hunting, fishing, and following professional sports in his free time. Ed voices what he values: "The chance to be outdoors, working with people I grew up with...farmers. I really enjoy working with progressive farmers who are continually looking for ways to farm better than the way they farmed the day before."
Justin Hamann interned as a summer scout from 2012-2014 in different locations throughout eastern South Dakota before coming on full-time with Centrol in January of 2015. Justin graduated from high school in Willmar, MN in 2009, and went on to obtain his B.S. in Agronomy from South Dakota State University. Justin and his wife Alyssa live near Volga, SD and he is currently building a territory in the Madison, SD area. He enjoys hunting and fishing in his free time. Justin enjoys being able to work outdoors, overcoming the different hurdles each growing season brings, but most importantly, the satisfaction that comes along with working closely with growers to help increase profit margins on their farms.
Caleb Hanson started with Centrol as a Scout in 2011. He is now a Crop Consultant. He grew up in Raymond, MN, and graduated in May, 2014, from University of Wisconsin, River Falls with a degree in Agricultural Business with a Crops minor. Caleb is currently living in Clara City, Minnesota. He enjoys water skiing, snowmobiling, and watching sports. Caleb looks forward to providing non-bias agronomic information to his customers.
Joel Harrison started with Centrol in 2014 as an intern and became a full time employee in 2018. He grew up on a farm near Morris, Minnesota. Joel is a graduate from North Dakota State University with a B.S. in crop and weed science, and a minor in Agribusiness. In his free time Joel enjoys hunting, fishing, and basically anything else involving the outdoors. Joel says “I really enjoy having the network reliability that Centrol offers, it provides our growers with the best possible recommendations for their farm”
Dan Haubrich started with Centrol in the fall of 2011. He grew up on a family farm near Danube, MN. Dan became a South Dakota State University Alumnus upon his completion in 2009 with a B.S. Degree in Agronomy and a Minor in Ag Business. After graduation Dan worked as a retail agronomist in central South Dakota for two and a half years to further his knowledge in the Ag sector before coming back to Minnesota to join the Centrol team. Dan currently resides in Benson, MN and enjoys hunting, fishing, riding motorcycle, and spending time with family and friends. He holds certification as a Crop Advisor and merits working with producers for the profitability of their operation, along with fellow consultant networking.
Andy Karssen has been with Centrol since 2004. He grew up in Chandler, Minnesota. Andy graduated from South Dakota State University and holds a B.S. in Agronomy as well as a Minor in Integrated Pest Management. Andy is a Certified Crop Advisor. He and his wife, Katie, live near Brandon, SD and have three children. In his free time Andy enjoys fishing, boating, and sports. "We work for the farmer, which means our job is to improve their yields and profits. We accomplish this from our hard work, knowledge, education, and the other consultants on staff."
Kody Kirsh started working for Centrol as a scout in 2012 and is now working as a Crop Consultant. He grew up on a farm near Milroy, MN and is currently living near Dovray, MN. Kody graduated from South Dakota State University with a B.S. degree in Agronomy. In his free time he enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors with friends and family. Kody enjoys working with his clients to give them unbiased recommendations to increase their return on investment.
Jeff Kranz has been with Centrol since 1996. He grew up in Kranzburg, South Dakota. Jeff is a graduate of South Dakota State University and holds a B.S. in Agronomy. He is a Certified Crop Advisor and values the trust and respect that he has earned with the producers he works with. Jeff and his wife, Vicky, have four children. In his free time, Jeff enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with his family. "I like the team concept at Centrol, we can all help each other."
Parker started in February of 2018 as a Crop Consultant in South Dakota. He graduated from SDSU in Brookings, SD with a degree in Ag Systems Technology December 2015. This team is second to none when it comes to agronomic knowledge and experience in the agriculture industry. Having the vast network of Consultants, Precision Ag specialists, and Regulatory specialists available for support is one of my favorite aspects of the job. Parker lives in Aurora, South Dakota with his dog. In his spare time, Parker enjoys hunting, fishing, anything outdoors, and socializing with friends and family.
Derek LeClair started with Centrol in March of 2010, covering the Traverse and Grant county areas. He grew up near Chokio, MN. Derek is a graduate of North Dakota State University and holds a B.S. in Plant Science with a Minor in Agribusiness. He is a Certified Crop Advisor. Before joining Centrol, he worked as a sales agronomist at an agronomy retail location. Derek and his wife Jolene have a daughter, Mattea. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, softball, and golf. Derek appreciates the knowledge of his fellow CENTROL consultants and the ability to network between one another. He values the opportunity to work directly with growers, giving them unbiased opinions to help them maximize their productivity and feels his success is based on the success of the growers.
Kevin Louwagie grew up on a farm just outside of Cottonwood, MN and has always enjoyed being outdoors. After graduating from Lakeview High School, he attended North Dakota State University where he obtained a BS in General Agriculture and minored in Crop and Weed Sciences. In Kevin’s free time he enjoy hunting, riding motorcycle, and doing carpentry work. "He enjoy working with Centrol because it allows us to interact and be more personal with the farmers that we work with. You develop a learning for how they want to run their operation and how you can best maximize their profit."
Chad Luze began working with Centrol in 2002. Chad graduated from South Dakota State University in December 2001 with a BS in Agronomy and a minor in Ag Business. He is a Certified Crop Advisor and a Technical Service Provider. Chad lives in Redwood Falls, MN with his three children. Chad enjoys spending time with his family, sports, and any outdoor activity. He values working and interacting with his clients to help them optimize profits and efficiency. Chad appreciates being able to work outdoors and he welcomes the challenges he faces on a day to day basis.
Austin Magnuson began his business in 2001, and started with Centrol in 2005. He grew up on a farm near Sunburg, Minnesota. Austin is a South Dakota State University alumnus, holding a B.S. in Ag Business and a Master of Science in Agronomy. He is a Certified Crop Advisor and a Technical Service Provider. Austin and his wife, Joanna, live in Montivideo with their three children. In his free time, Austin enjoys: hunting, snowmobiling, downhill-skiing, water-skiing, racing, softball, basketball, and golf. His values include, "No corporate politics dictating what products we recommend. We only recommend what is best for the farmer." Austin likes the people he works with, both clients and colleagues. He values the Centrol network, as it helps everyone keep up with the industry and one another.
Mark Moeller started with Centrol in 1988. He was raised on a farm in northwest Iowa. Mark attended Iowa State University and holds a B.S. in Agronomy. He is a Certified Crop Advisor and a Technical Service Provider. He and his wife, Tammy, have three children. In his spare time Mark enjoys practicing the martial arts and holds a 3rd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. He also enjoys most outdoor activities as well as spending time with his children and grandchildren. In his job with Centrol, Mark enjoys working with some of the best producers in the area. He believes that each day presents a different set of challenges and this keeps him on his toes. He also enjoys that as a consultant, he gets to wear shorts in the summer. "I truly believe the strength of Centrol is the quality of our staff. We have a wide range of ages and experiences. In the ever-changing world of agriculture, this knowledge base is priceless."
Tim Moline began working with Centrol in 2000. He grew up on a farm near Slayton, Minnesota. Tim is a graduate of the University of Minnesota and holds a B.S. in Crops and Soils Resource Management. He is a Certified Crop Advisor and a Technical Service Provider. Tim has a wife, Erin, two children, and enjoys hunting, fishing, and shooting skeet and sporting clays. He values providing producers with his knowledge and experience, and finds their successes are his. Tim voices what is most important: "The independent advice we bring producers. We are in business for the producer, if he is successful we are."
Karl Nesse started with Centrol in August 2012. Karl began his career with a local cooperative in 2010 after graduating from the University of Wisconsin – River Falls with a B.S. in Agriculture Business, minoring in Plant Science. Karl lives near Brownton, MN with his wife Whitney and five children. In his spare time, Karl enjoys: boating, hunting, feeding cattle, and being outdoors. "I enjoy being able to partner with my growers to provide unbiased, independent agronomic recommendations with the backing and support of the other Centrol consultant's years of experience and hands-on agronomy."
Dave Opsahl started with Centrol in 1995. He grew up in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. Dave is a graduate of North Dakota State University and holds a B.S. in Agriculture. He enjoys snowmobiling and hunting in his free time. Dave and his wife Melissa live near Detroit Lakes with their children. He likes the flexibility of his job and being able to work outdoors. Dave enjoys working with growers for success. When asked what sets his business apart from the rest, Dave states, "Independent recommendations and decisions."
Jacob grew up on a family farm near Lucan, Minnesota. He then began working with Centrol in 2018 as an intern, and then hired full time as a consultant trainee in May of 2020. Jacob graduated from SDSU with a bachelor's degree in agronomy. He loves pretty much anything outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and golfing. Jacob enjoys working with Centrol because of the great network of co-workers who are willing to help you whenever it is needed.
I have been with Centrol since 2015 interning for 3 summers and then becoming a full-time employee in 2018. I grew up on a family farm near Lucan, Minnesota. I am a graduate of South Dakota State University and holds a B.S. degree in Agricultural Business with a minor in Agronomy. Matt and his wife Ashley currently live in Walnut Grove, MN. Mike Peeters started with Centrol in early 2014. Before coming to Centrol, Mike worked 6 years in ag retail after graduating from NDSU with a B.S. in Soil Science in 2007. Mike married in 2011 to Amanda and they have two girls and one boy together, and reside near Menahga. In Mike’s free time he enjoys farming, hunting and fishing with family and friends. Nick Pieske began working with Centrol in 2005. He grew up on a farm north of Slayton, Minnesota. Nick is a Southwest State University alumnus and holds a B.S. in Biology with a Minor in Environmental Sciences. He is a licensed private pilot. Nick and his wife, Jill, live in Hadley with their three children. Nick enjoys hunting, fishing, archery, riding motorcycle, camping, insect collecting, and flying in his free time. He values having a key role in the success of farms, as well as working outdoors. "We represent an unbiased source of proven information whose only goal is to maximize the yield potential for our growers."
Steven Rohlik began working full time with Centrol in May, 2015. He also interned with Centrol for three summers prior to being hired full time. Before his years with Centrol, Steven grew up on a farm near Wabasso, Minnesota. He graduated from Wabasso High School and then went on to receive his BS in Agronomy with an emphasis in crop management at Southwest Minnesota State University. He enjoys hunting, fishing, and anything sports related in his free time. Steven is excited for the opportunity to be able to provide unbiased information to his growers and continuing to expand his agronomic knowledge.
Matt Salentiny started with Centrol in 2010. He grew up on a farm near Dundee, Minnesota. Matt is a graduate of South Dakota State University with a B.S. degree in Agronomy. Matt and his wife Jayne currently live near Tyler, and have one child. He enjoys skiing, snowmobiling, fishing, and working on the farm in his spare time. He enjoys the one on one interaction between producers and the challenges of each growing year. Matt feels that "As an unbiased consultant of Centrol, I take pride on our excellent network and broad services that we offer all farming operations."
Clint Schindler started as a full-time consultant in May 2011. He interned as a summer scout from 2008-2010. Clint grew up in Lake Benton, MN and is a graduate of Lake Benton High School in 2007. Clint then earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Agronomy and a minor in Pest Management from South Dakota State University. Clint and his wife Alisha live in Dawson, MN and have two children. In Clint’s free time, he enjoys spending time with family, friends, snowmobiling, and following sports. The best part about my job is being able to work independently providing knowledge to farmers for continual success. Jake Schwendeman started with Centrol in 2015 as a sampler/scout and became a full time employee in 2018. He grew up on the family farm near DeGraff, Minnesota and graduated from Benson High School in 2013. He attended North Dakota State University where he received his bachelor’s degree in Crop and Weed Science in 2017. Jake says "Working for Centrol Crop Consulting allows me to work with growers to increase their profits and better their entire operation." Jake enjoys hunting, fishing and spending time with his family at the lake.
Jacob Sharkey began working with Centrol in the Fall of 2012 and worked as a Scout/Soil Sampling Intern for four seasons,then was hired on as a Technician for Brian Velde in the Spring of 2016. Fall of 2017 Jacob became a Consultant. Jake was born in Marshall, MN and grew up on a grain farm west of Hanley Falls, MN. After graduating from Yellow Medicine East High School, he attended North Dakota State University where he received his B.S. Degree in General Agriculture with a minor in Crop and Weed Sciences. In Jake’s free time he enjoys snowmobiling, hunting, riding four-wheeler, and working around the farm. Jake is excited to expand his agronomic knowledge and to have the ability to work right with farmers on their operations all while providing unbiased information to help improve their business.
Cory Skauge started as a full-time consultant in November 2017. He interned as a summer scout from 2010-2012. Cory grew up in the Barnesville, MN area and is a graduate of Barnesville High School in 2008. Cory then earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Agricultural Economics from North Dakota University. Cory and his wife Christa live in Hartford, SD and have one child. In Cory’s free time, he enjoys spending time with family and everything outdoors. Cory enjoys bowhunting, snowmobiling, and ice-fishing. “The best part about my job is representing the each grower and having their best interest in mind while caring for each acre is a rewarding feeling. Randy Vancura started with Centrol in 1992. He grew up in Lakefield, Minnesota. Randy is a University of Minnesota-St. Paul alumnus and holds a B.S. in Agronomy. He also earned an Associates Degree in Diversified Ag Science from the University of Minnesota-Waseca. Randy is a Certified Crop Advisor and a Technical Service Provider. He and his wife, Shawna, have four children. You can find Randy woodworking, collecting mini-tractors, and restoring mini-tractors in his free time. He values working side-by-side with producers to find solutions to the challenges that come with production agriculture. Randy finds that his success comes from the success of his clients. Griffin Vlietstra started with Centrol in 1997. He grew up in Orange City, Iowa. Griffin is a graduate of South Dakota State University and holds a B.S. in Ag Business. He is a member of NAICC and CPCC-I, a Technical Service Provider, and a Certified Nutrient Management Planner. Griffin and his wife, Summer, have three children. He enjoys camping, golfing, outdoor activities, and spending time with his family. In his business, Griffin provides unbiased advice to increase profits for his clients. He values working with clients to achieve success.
Matt Weller has been with Centrol since 2004. He grew up on a dairy farm outside of Brooten, Minnesota. Matt is a graduate of the Univerrsity of Minnesota and holds a B.S. in Ag Industries and Marketing. He is a Certified Crop Advisor and a Technical Service Provider. Matt and his wife, MacKenzie, have four kids: Klayton, Brenden, Emry, and Ava. He enjoys spending time with family and friends, hunting, fishing, golfing, and outdoor activities. Shane Weller started working for Centrol in 2013. He grew up on a dairy farm near Brooten, MN. Shane attended North Dakota State University and received a B.S. degree in Agricultural Systems Management as well as minors in Crop & Weed Science and Agribusiness. Shane and his wife Heidi live in Glenwood, MN. In his free time, Shane enjoys hunting, fishing, and helping on the family dairy farm. Shane likes working at Centrol because it gives him the opportunity to provide farmers with unbiased agronomic advice with the sole purpose of increasing their profit. Jeremy Wermers started as a full-time consultant in August of 2019. Jeremy grew up on a farm just a mile outside of Dimock South Dakota, and a graduate of Parkston High School in 2006. Jeremy then earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Ag Business, with a minor in Ag Marketing from South Dakota State University. Jeremy and his wife Brandi reside in the town on Dimock, eventually planning on moving to the family farm someday. Jeremy and Brandi have two children, Braxton(6) and Bristyl(1). In Jeremy’s free time he enjoys being around family and friends, but also the farm, whether it is working with the crops and ground or doing something with the cattle or pigs. Jeremy and his wife own two – 2400 head swine nursery facilities located around the Dimock area, along with around 30 head of cattle. Taking his boy Braxton to the farm and letting him drive the side by side and tractors has really been a big joy of his, because that was the way he was brought up. “The best part about my job is being able to have a group of knowledgeable guys to bounce ideas and questions around. Having that in my back pocket allows me to become a very well-rounded consultant. Being able to take that experience and incorporating it into helping farmers care for their crops, land, and profitability is a rewarding feeling at the end of the day.”
Brent Werven started with Centrol in 1991. He grew up in Cavalier, North Dakota. Brent attended North Dakota State University and holds a B.S. in Soil Science. He is a Technical Service Provider. Brent and his wife, Chris, have two children. He enjoys outdoor activities, target shooting, pheasant hunting, camping, and spending time with his children. Brent provides his clients with unbiased opinions and recommendations to increase their profits and yields. He works with a great group of farmers who make his job very enjoyable. "We do not sell product, we only sell advice; that is one of the great things I like about working at Centrol. Having as many consultants as we have on staff, I think this helps all our growers in that we get to share a lot of information on new hybrids, chemicals, precision Ag, and other problems that arise."
Cole grew up on his family dairy farm near Elrosa, MN. He graduated from Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa High School in 2015. Cole has been an intern with Centrol from 2016 to 2018 as a sampler/scout. He started his full-time position as a technician with Centrol in May of 2019 after graduating from North Dakota State University, where he received his bachelor's degree in Crop and Weed Science. Cole says “I enjoy working outside and with the farmers to help them maximize their profits and to better their entire operation.” In his free time he enjoys hunting, fishing, and helping do anything that needs to be done on the farm.
Adam Becker began working with Centrol in winter 2013 as a Technician for Ed Gruenes. He grew up near Long Prairie, MN. Adam has an AAS degree in Agri-business from Ridgewater College in Willmar, MN. Prior to joining the Centrol team, he spent three years working in Ag retail. Although not growing up on a farm, he spent over six years employed on a Dairy farm through College. Adam along with his wife Ashley have one child and currently resides near Freeport, MN. In his spare time he enjoys hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, four-wheeling and spending time with his family. Adam enjoys working with Centrol because he enjoys working outdoors in agriculture. He also enjoys working in many different aspects of the agricultural business by providing many different services to the customers. Mike Hammer started with Centrol in 2012. He grew up in Minneota, MN on a small farm just 4 miles north of Minneota. Mike is a graduate of South Dakota State University and earned his degree in agronomy. Mike and his wife Samantha live near Ghent and have two children. He enjoys hunting, fishing, golfing, and spending time at the lake in his free time.
Cameron Henning started with Centrol in 2017. He grew upon a farm in Lakefield, Minnesota. He graduated from Southwest Minnesota State University with B.S. in Agricultural Solutions and a minor in Agronomy. He was also a wrestler for the SMSU Mustangs. Cameron enjoys spending time with his family. Some of his hobbies include kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, and just relaxing outdoors. Cameron enjoys working at Centrol because of the great people he gets to work with every day as well as helping farmers reach their full potential.
Dylan started with Centrol as a technician in 2018. He grew up on a farm near Clarkfield, MN. He attended South Dakota State University and graduated in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in Ag Systems Technology. Dylan enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.
Collin Moeller started working with Centrol as a scout in 2016. He was hired full time in January 2019 as a Consultant Technician. Collin grew up on a grain and livestock farm 8 miles north of Pipestone and is still very active in the cattle and farming operation. He graduated from South Dakota State University in the fall of 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Sciences. When Collin is not working he enjoys going to the lake and playing amateur baseball for the Pipestone A’s in the summer. In the winter, he enjoys ice fishing and going to concerts. “I enjoy working with Centrol because you get to help farmers better their operation through sound agronomic recommendations.”
Nick Siemonsma started with Centrol in 2012 as an intern. He grew up on a farm near Dell Rapids, SD and attended high school in Dell Rapids and graduated in 2011. He graduated from South Dakota State University in 2015 with a B.S. in Agronomy. He currently lives near Dell Rapids where he also help his Dad farm. During his free time he enjoys watching and playing sports along with working on the farm.
Logan began working for Centrol in the fall of 2016 and was a summer scout until he was hired full time, as a Technician, in March of 2019.Logan grew up on the family farm SW of Volga, SD. He graduated from Lake Area Technical Institute with an Associate's Degree in Ag Business in 2017.When not busy with Centrol, he is on the farm checking his cattle and crops. Hobbies include fishing, hunting, and sports.
Cordell "CJ" Windschitl
CJ Windschitl started working with Centrol in 2019 where he is a technician for Chad Luze. CJ grew up on a small farm south of Sleepy Eye, MN where his love of agriculture began. After high school he attained an Agribusiness degree from South Central College and an Agronomy degree from SDSU in 2016. Before starting with Centrol, CJ previously had worked in the research and retail portions of the ag industry. Currently he is living in Sleepy Eye. In his free time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, golfing and anything outdoors. CJ enjoys working for Centrol because they provide unbiased service to help each grower succeed.
